About to get on a highway in my C5 as all the shit breaks.
Car claimed washing fluid was low and horn started honking.... non stop. Tried the good old turn her off and turn her on. Nope. Turned back home.
I am wondering what the heck would cause all this good stuff to happen.
Anyone else have this problem where horn honks non stop and makes people turn and look at you?
EDIT: Apparently a common problem on C5. Horn membrane malfunctions. Either horn doesn’t work at all or honks all the time.
My guess is that the metal could get corroded and it stops working, or warps and honks all the time. Tho i did give it a few good wacks, it did not stop.

I know the earlier cars had soldering issues in the electronics.

I’ve had all kinds of weird electrical gremlins popup when the connection to the 12v battery was not solid. I cleaned terminals and tightened the.down, everything back to normal and never popped up again.

One time I was driving down the freeway and my horn started going off in my 1994 Accord . Non stop. I pulled off and came up to a stop light, still honking. People looked and honked back, but I was stuck in traffic and there was nothing I could do. I was frantically pushing every button and spinning every knob I could get my hands on. I flicked the headlights on and...... it stopped. wut?
I went the next couple of blocks and got to my brother’s house. I inspected the outside of the car and found a wiring loom had dropped down and was rubbing on a front tire. Bingo. I had ignored the wheel liner that had fallen out a few months prior, thus causing the damage.
Quite embarrassing .

Yep. Can confirm. When I disconnected the battery, horn stopped.
Do I even need the battery? I think all problems come from it.
